Bed & Breakfast

Text Box: Gesta Hus
Text Box: Solmundson

Dave and Sharon Holtz are your hosts at the Gesta Hús. Sharon (Solmundson) Holtz was born in the Solmundson home and grew up on Hecla Island. For more information on the history of the Solmundson’s go to our History page.  Dave and Sharon came back to the island in 1987 and with Sharon's brother Bob Solmundson they restored the family home to open it as a bed & breakfast.

The Gesta Hús is situated on 43 acres of private property within the park, located next to the church at the north end of the historic Hecla  village. It is a European style bed and breakfast with all the North American conveniences.

The house features four guest rooms, a common living and dining area, and a SOQI wellness room. See our wellness page for information on sessions.

You can sit on the verandah, in the gazebo, or in the outdoor hot tub to enjoy the view of the lake, to gaze at the stars and to enjoy the peace and quiet. You can also watch an extraordinary number of birds in the perennial gardens and fruit trees and watch various wildlife pass through the yard. You will be greeted on arrival by our house cats Odin and Loki.
